Broken Road is an up and coming band from Sydney, NS. As an entrant in the 2019 CBC Searchlight Competition with their song “Paycheque”, the band finished in the Top 100 in all of Canada, and received generous radio play on CBC Radio One. Broken Road’s upbeat and well crafted original songs blend many genres including rock, blues, bluegrass, and pop. The band’s high energy live show also includes many recognizable cover songs that always have the audience singing along! Broken Road consists of Brandon Bates (Lead Vocals, and brother of Brian Catchcart (lead singer of popular Cape Breton band Pretty Archie), Alan Buckingham (Drums), Devon Cann (Lead Guitar), Tyson Kelloway (Acoustic Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocals), and Mike Gorey (Bass), who also has a VERY local connection, as he was born and raised in Ingonish, and also happens to be the Manager of North Highlands Community Museum.
This is sure to be one of the most exciting shows of the summer, so be sure to get your tickets early!
